Welcome to Compañeros en Salud!
Established in September 1999, Compañeros en Salud / Partners in Health, NFP is a grassroots coalition charged with assisting members of the community in accessing appropriate healthcare and social services. The not-for-profit organization was founded by Dr. Lulu Blacksmith, a longtime Fox Valley resident. Dr. Blacksmith is a highly respected and passionate leader, deeply committed to social equity, inclusion and diversity. She has a broad range of experience in health care, federal government and higher education. Dr. Blacksmith’s advocacy for access to health care and higher education is a fundamental right.
Compañeros en Salud/ Partners in Health, NFP is a volunteer-driven coalition and its membership consists of individuals representing social and health care agencies of the Fox Valley area. Its open forum meetings focus on addressing the issues that affect the Hispanic community and other diverse groups. The group meets at 8 a.m. every second Wednesday of the month.
