Welcome to Compañeros en Salud!

 

Established in September 1999, Compañeros en Salud / Partners in Health, NFP is a grassroots coalition charged with assisting members of the community in accessing appropriate healthcare and social services.The not-for-profit organization was founded by Lulu Blacksmith, a longtime Fox Valley resident and Director of Governmental and Multicultural Affairs at Waubonsee Community College.

 

Compañeros en Salud/ Partners in Health, NFP is a volunteer-driven coalition and its membership consists of individuals representing social and health care agencies of the Fox Valley area. Its open forum meetings focus on addressing the issues that affect the Hispanic community and other diverse groups. The group meets at 8 a.m. every second Wednesday of the month.

To provide the Hispanic community and other diverse groups with the means to access resources and services for their health and well-being.

 

Our Purpose

• To advocate for equal meaningful and culturally competent access to health care and social services for the community.
• To serve as a mutual forum to identify, discuss and bring into focus the issues that affect the health and well-being of the community.
• To serve as a venue for the collection, exchange and dissemination of information of the community’s interests.
