Michael Moran

Michael Moran has worked in the field of substance use disorder treatment and prevention in a variety of roles since 1981. Moran has a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University and is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CAADC) in the State of Illinois. He is currently employed as an Assistant Professor of Human Services at Waubonsee Community College, where he serves as the coordinator of the accredited Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor Training Programs, preparing students for careers as substance use disorder treatment professionals.

Prior to his employment at the college, Moran served 17 years as the Executive Director at Breaking Free, Inc., an outpatient treatment and prevention agency located in Aurora, IL. He has also served in a variety of clinical, supervisory, and staff development roles at both outpatient and residential treatment settings in Illinois. Moran has served as a volunteer for numerous nonprofit organizations, including Prevention First, IAODAPCA, the DuPage Prevention Partnership, DuPage MISA consortium and currently with Companeros en Salud/Partners in Health, NFP and PATH. Proud parents of two and grandparents of three, Moran and his wife currently reside in Wheaton, Illinois.
